BREAKING: Iraq war veteran Eric Rodriguez slams Donald Trump for stabbing our service men and women in the back to pave the way for billionaire tax cuts: “Veterans don’t trust him. He’s not one of us.”If this doesn’t break your heart, you don’t have one…”Veterans, we are under attack. Last week 1,400 workers get fired illegally. Twenty-two of them were my colleagues at Hines VA Hospital,” a visibly emotional Rodriguez said at a press conference. “Some of them didn’t even get a real notice. That’s how little they think of people and of veterans in this country and that serve this country.”

“They’re slashing staff, crushing unions, and selling out the VA for what? So billionaires can make more money while veterans sit on waitlists or worse they’ll get no treatment,” he continued.”

Our president was asleep while Moscow’s at the wheel. Do you know what happens to a service member when they’re on duty?” he went on. “Veterans don’t trust him. He’s not one of us.”

“We’re not about to sit back and take the SEIU. We’re fighting back. We’re organizing and we’re taking action. We’re not going to back down,” Rodriguez said defiantly.

Donald Trump’s ruthless betrayal of our veteran community is one of his greatest sins to date. These people sacrificed their minds and bodies to keep us safe, and now Trump is gutting their access to healthcare so that men like Elon Musk can receive bigger tax breaks.

Horrifyingly, a Trump administration memo just revealed that DOGE is planning to “aggressively” cut a staggering 70,000 employees at the Department of Veterans Affairs. The result will be a crippled VA incapable of tending to our veterans. It’s part of the Republican plan to ultimately privatize the entire department, lining the pockets of the rich while offering inferior services at inflated rates.

This is absolutely vile and settles one matter for good: Republicans are not pro-military. The only thing they are is pro-greed.

I’ve been using the Chicago area V.A. Clinics for decades and always had excellent care. Hines Hospital is where I would go for more serious medical treatment if necessary. Hines treats hundreds of Veterans every day. They have more than a hundred handicap parking spaces available for Veterans using the hospital. They’re always filled and dozens of cars are always waiting for an open spot. Many of these Vets are disabled from their loyal military service. V.A. facilities across the country are typically under-staffed. Hines has partnered with Loyola Hospital, on the same campus, to provide medical treatments for Veterans. For greedy billionaires like trump, vance, musk and the spineless republi-cons in congress to cut services for America’s Veterans is criminal. American voters must stand up for their honorable Veterans. Vote for or donate to the Democrat candidates in the FL 1st and FL 6th U.S. house special elections on April 1st, and in the N.Y. 21st upcoming house election. And of course vote for the Democrats who actually protect Veterans in the 2026 midterms.

BREAKING: Democratic superstar Governor J.B. Pritzker demolishes Donald Trump over his economy-killing tariffs with a takedown for the ages — and lays out a brilliant plan for defeating MAGA’s economic destruction.

This is what a president should actually sound like…”Donald Trump is lying to you. Here’s the truth. It’s simple. Tariffs are a tax on Americans. When you buy something, you pay the tariff, not some foreign country,” Pritzker said in a video released on his X page.

Trump implemented 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico yesterday and the fallout has been immediate. The stock market is cratering and prices are skyrocketing.”

Trump’s tariffs will raise the price on things like tomatoes and prescription medicines, electronics, toys, and more,” Pritzker continued. “Grocery prices are rising because of Trump’s tax. New car prices are rising because of Trump’s tax. Beer prices are rising because of Trump’s tax.”

“And he has no plan for what happens next,” the governor went on. “He doesn’t care about the farmer who relies on machinery from Canada to operate their farm or the small business owner who needs supplies from Europe. Or the parents who need to feed their families every day at a reasonable cost.”

He’s right about Trump’s apathy. He won the election and is term-limited (presuming he doesn’t try to run for an illegal third term) so he doesn’t have to worry about winning voters. He can shred this country apart and remain insulated from the effects entirely. And why would a sociopath like Trump care if you suffer? He has all the money and power he could ever want. Egg prices don’t impact him.

Pritzker, on the other hand, does care and he laid out an economic plan to dampen the effects of the tariffs.”

While Trump is causing higher prices in Illinois, lowering the burden on working families is what we’re all about,” said the governor. “We’ve eliminated the grocery tax and raised the minimum wage. We lowered income taxes on workers and erased medical debt for nearly 300,000 Illinoisans with more to come.”

“And while we can’t combat every part of Trump’s tax, it’s a start. Protecting Illinoisans from the economic hardship Trump is imposing is one of my most important missions as your governor,” he concluded.

This is the kind of response America needs from its governors. Tough talk is nice, but strong action is even better. Illinoisans are lucky to have Pritzker to help them weather the MAGA storm.
